Bought through builder...Very, very noisy, and does not do a good job venting and getting rid of odors. Had a vented before one that really did a good job The builder of my home did a terrible job installing...the chimneys are dented and scratched and was installed too far above my gas stove.

We had this installed with our brand new house. We didn't have a huge choice of appliances and this was "the best" one they could offer. I am a chef and cook a lot at home for my family and this hood can't keep up with a cast iron pan heating up, never mine when I throw a steak or some bacon down. As loud as the fan is you would think it would work but it can barely suck up the steam of boiling water. I am extremely disappointed in this product. I love the look but the fan is far too weak for a almost $700 hood. I will be replacing this ASAP to something that actually works. I'm only giving two stars because I like the looks of it. It deserves no stars for actually working as a hood.

It'll do. A bit flimsy so it dents easily. Poor design in that pulling the stack apart when being installed it is almost impossible that it doesn't get scratched in the process.

This was installed in a brand new house, I did not have a choice of appliances or else Whirlpool would not have been on the list (my last Whirlpool oven would not ignite).Not to be surprised, there are many other complaints but my biggest concern is how poorly the fan operates. Even on high, it can not keep up with steam from 4 pieces of bacon. It was actually billowing above the hood because the fan is so weak. It can hardly hold up a piece of paper.This has solidified my belief that Whirlpool's products have gone way downhill in the last decade.

We had Whirlpool Gold Series appliances put in our new home just under three years ago. The range hood light does not turn on or flickers sometimes when the fan is on.I called costumer service and was told the appliance is no longer under the 12 month warranty. This is more of a decorative appliance and not heavily used like a dishwasher,cooktop, and oven. We have used the light on the range hood a total of 10 times or less over the time we have lived in our home.When you factor in the service call, replacement part, and labor it would make more sense to replace the range hood considering the longevity of this appliance is 2 years and 8 months.I expected more from a company of your magnitude on all levels.

The suction area is a little narrow. Steam can easily escape to the sides of the hood fan. The appearance is ok.

I have never owned a range hood before and thought it was a luxury I could never afford, but I bought this one to match my kitchen range a couple of months ago and am simply thrilled with it. It is quiet, yet has three fan settings. The light is great as well, illuminating the entire top of the range.It looks lovely in my kitchen and receives many compliments from family and friends.

We bought and installed this range hood when we remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago. It does a decent job of removing grease, steam, and odors but not great. I wish now that I had got the more powerful 400cfm model instead of this one. The florescent light that makes this an energy star appliance has given us much trouble. It was not coming on, so we replaced it. Now, it only comes on sometimes and we'll have to press additional buttons for the fans to get it to come on sometimes. It will just randomly turn off while you are cooking as well and then pop back on a little while later. We got an estimate to fix and to replace the switch, it will cost over $300. $240 for the switch plus labor. I might as well buy a new hood for that money. I am very disappointed in this product. For what I paid for it, I should not be incurring such a costly repair so soon.

This was installed upon move-in at our home. I like the multiple features, however the top of the fume hood is opposite grain of the bottom, and makes it look funny.

We chose this over other brands and models because of its Energy-Star rating and corresponding affordable price tag: only a handful of kitchen canopy hoods are Energy-Star rated. For the size of our application, its relatively low-cfm works fine. We use spices and oils in our cooking and the exhaust draw is pretty good at sucking out the odors/ hot air. Make sure its installed per the description in the manual. Ease of cleaning and operation is appreciated. Overall, its a good, well designed, inexpensive no-nonsense workhorse in our kitchen.
