This dryer failed direct from the factory. I had to fight and fight to get it replaced. The sound was metal in metal and it was a gas dryer. I was afraid it would blow up. Plus the repair technician said he couldn™€™t figure out what was wrong with it.

We bought this dryer after our other GE dryer (same one just the older model) and we were given a rebate based on the warranty we bought when we bought the dryer. We used that $ and paid extra for a new warranty and bought the ™€œnew and improved™€ version. Within a month we were having issues with the clothes drying. We called the warranty company and were told the 1st year was covered by GE. So we called. They sent out Nathan from Bodwell and he literally did nothing. We contacted them again and they again sent out Nathan. And again nothing was done. Then called again and did this 6 more times. He would tell us that he would let them know it wasnt repairable but he never did. It was taking us 4 to 6 hours to dry ON HIGH HEAT but ™€œnothing was wrong™€ so once the warranty switched to Allstate we called. They sent every part to try to fix it. Did nothing. Took me 4 hours to dry my duvet cover last night.

Does not remove pet hair or human hair

This washer and dryer combo remove almost no pet hair or human hair. I have added pet hair dryer sheets, wool balls, and a couple of contraptions off of Amazon to try to help and they do almost nothing. I am using 10 or more lint roller sheets to get hair off of the laundry. It is taking 20 or more extra minutes per laundry load to remove hair manually. I am very disappointed, My old Maytag had a lint trap twice the size and the lint remaining was at least 4 times as thick. I ran the test on the machine to see if was my vents being clogged and it passed. I am desperate for my old machines back. I am showing an image of a white towel close up after two cycles in the dryer. I am also showing the lint trap after the second run. You cand see there is little to no hair or lint on it.

After 9 years our Maytag washer went down. Purchased a G.E. Profile washer. ..which is decent. Had to buy a dryer 2 months later and got the G.E Profile Energy Star dryer to match the washer. This dryer is made extremely cheap. The unit has NO weight,,,so it moves around with simple loads. Takes over an hour to dry simple loads. This is one of Obama™€™s ™€œgreen energy woke ideas™€ that wastes more energy and time. We bought it to match the washing machine without really reviewing the unit™€¦bad call on our part, will see if this dryer lasts a few years. Definitely will not purchase another one.

Overall this dryer is not as large as I would like. I could deal with that if it weren't lacking in performance. The lint filter is extremely small which fills quickly and then throws lint inside the dryer. When you take the clothes out of the dryer lint is on the clothes in clumps. It also takes longer to dry the clothes than my previous dryer. I am very disappointed. Currently is making a squeaky noise that must be checked. I have owned this dryer less than 6 months.

Horrible! Don™€™t buy.. The dryer should have never left the factory. It was built on a Friday afternoon before the long weekend when everyone already started drinking at lunch. A Yugo or any car coming out of Detroit in the 70/80s had better quality than this xxxx box. The door takes about 100 lbs of force to open. The feet are just a pieces of cheap plastic; it lacks any rubber, so it slides all over the place. Those two things together made for a fun experience. The most important thing about a dryer is drying clothes, yeah not this one. Drying a full load of towels? You better take the afternoon off. Every load takes about 2 or 3 drying cycles.. There should be a 5 hour timer dry.. The UI sucks, the paint is to thin (lots of scratches after my first week), craftsmanship is crap, wrinkle function adds wrinkles, and I hate it. Yes my lint trap is clean.

First the vent exits the dryer too low making it nearly impossible to vent if it rests on the floor. Secondly I despise the fact that each time I turn it on, it reverts to Normal cycle at the highest heat setting which I rarely use. Same with timed cycle...always high heat setting. It likely won't stay in my home a full year!
